Hello! I'm Lisa, the founder, creator and very proud one-woman team behind Cherry Moo — an independent, award-winning luxury ice cream business based in Quedgeley, Gloucestershire.

I'm a mum of two, a former midwife and a completely self-taught ice cream maker with a rather serious passion for creating something delicious!

Every tub of Cherry Moo ice cream is handmade by me, in small batches, using carefully chosen ingredients, a lot of love and an unwavering obsession with flavour.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

I've always adored ice cream.

From exploring the gelato shops of Soho while visiting family to discovering incredible ice cream parlours in Boston, I fell in love with the rich, creamy, indulgent ice cream I'd experienced on my travels.

But I struggled to find anything quite like it back home.

One evening, while out on a date night with my husband James, we were once again left underwhelmed by our ice cream. And that's when I decided to have a go at making my own.

What started as a little experiment soon became something of an obsession!

After a year of experimenting, refining recipes and making my family endure endless rounds of compulsory taste-testing (they didn't complain too much!), I finally perfected my signature ice cream base.

And in May 2020, Cherry Moo Luxury Ice Cream was born.

I left my career as a midwife to follow my dream, and I've been making ice cream ever since.

MADE BY ME, FROM START TO FINISH

Cherry Moo isn't a factory-produced ice cream brand.

It's just me, working away behind the scenes, making every batch by hand.

My ice cream begins with a beautifully rich base made using Welsh double cream, milk and sugar. From there, I create flavours packed with delicious ingredients, handmade additions, indulgent swirls and plenty of texture.

I love making as much as I can from scratch, whether that's honeycomb, brownie pieces, cookie dough or the little extras that make each flavour special.

I'm also a perfectionist!

A flavour doesn't make it onto the Cherry Moo menu until I'm completely happy with it. Some recipes take weeks of testing and tweaking, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

For me, it's never been about making ordinary ice cream.

It's about creating the kind of ice cream you remember.

A LITTLE BUSINESS WITH BIG ACHIEVEMENTS

What began in my family kitchen has grown into a multi-award-winning independent ice cream business, something I'm incredibly proud of.

Cherry Moo has received numerous Great Taste Awards, including prestigious three-star awards, alongside recognition from the Cotswold Life Food & Drink Awards, Muddy Stilettos and The Cotswold Awards.

Every award means the world to me because behind every flavour is so much time, hard work and attention to detail.

And knowing that people love eating my ice cream as much as I love making it? That's the best reward of all.

STILL SMALL BATCH. STILL HANDMADE. STILL ME.

Cherry Moo may have grown since those early days, but the heart of the business hasn't changed.

I'm still the person dreaming up new flavours, making the ice cream, filling the tubs, packing your orders and doing all the little jobs that keep Cherry Moo running.
